The project will last 5 years. <br><br>\n\nThe PAMPAT 2 project is funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO) and is being implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in close cooperation with the Tunisian Ministries of Economy, Industry and Agriculture.<br><br>\n\nThe project will continue promoting Tunisian local food products with an overall budget of 4.1 million Swiss francs.<br><br>\n\nThis project focuses on the recognition and institutionalization of the Tunisian local food sub-sector and represents the continuation of the PAMPAT 1, which was implemented between 2013 and 2019. <br><br>\n\n\nThe PAMPAT approach focuses on the development of agro-industrial value chains, the promotion\nof origin-linked quality labels and the implementation of a collective communication and marketing plan in order to ensure sales of regional products both on national and international markets.<br><br>\n\nDuring phase 1, project activities have focused particularly on the valorization of Tunisian harissa with the Food Quality Label Tunisia, the Djebba Fig with a protected geographical indication and the organic prickly pear, as well as on the set-up of the biennial Tunisian Contest of Typical Food Products.<br><br>\n\nPAMPAT 2 aims at broadening, upscaling and consolidating the results obtained during phase 1. The project will continue promoting the prickly pear sector and will support three value chains, namely processed dates, dried tomatoes and pomegranates.<br><br>\n\nThese value chains offer promising prospects in terms of value-added, access to foreign markets and job creation in disadvantaged regions.<br><br>\n\nAt the institutional level, PAMPAT 2 will provide assistance to improve the legal framework for the development of geographical indications and will contribute to the preparation of a national strategy for the promotion of local products, which will be implemented in two Tunisian pilot regions.<br><br>\n\nThe biennial organization of the Tunisian Contest of Typical Food Products, which was initiated in 2017 will continue and the Tunisian experience will help to duplicate the set-up of local food contests in other countries such as Egypt and Georgia.<br><br>\n\nThe PAMPAT 2 project foresees partnerships with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), the Swiss Import Promotion Program (SIPPO) and the Interjurassic Rural\nFoundation (FRI).<br><br>\n\nIn the framework of the PAMPAT 2 project, the Tunisian-Swiss cooperation aims at setting up an ambitious promotion program for local products, which have nowadays become symbols of natural, gastronomic, cultural and economic wealth.<br><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\">Ce projet est ax\u00e9 sur la reconnaissance et l\u2019institutionnalisation du sous-secteur tunisien des produits du terroir et repr\u00e9sente la suite du <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/presentation-pampat-1\/\" target=\"_self\"><strong>PAMPAT 1<\/strong><\/a> qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en \u0153uvre entre 2013 et 2019. <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/approche\/\" target=\"_self\">L\u2019approche<\/a> du PAMPAT se focalise sur le d\u00e9veloppement des cha\u00eenes de valeur agroindustrielles, la promotion des labels de qualit\u00e9 li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019origine ainsi que la communication et le marketing pour am\u00e9liorer la commercialisation des produits de terroir au niveau national et international. Pendant la premi\u00e8re phase, les activit\u00e9s se sont focalis\u00e9es notamment sur la valorisation de la harissa avec Food Quality Label Tunisia, la figue de Djebba avec Appellation d\u2019Origine Contr\u00f4l\u00e9e et la figue de barbarie biologique ainsi que sur la mise en place bisanuelle du Concours Tunisien des Produits du Terroir.<\/p><p class=\" translation-block\">Ainsi, le PAMPAT 2 vise \u00e0 \u00e9largir, amplifier et consolider les axes de travail de la phase 1. Le projet poursuivra la promotion de la fili\u00e8re <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/figue-de-barbarie\/\" target=\"_self\">figue de barbarie<\/a> et appuiera trois nouvelles fili\u00e8res, \u00e0 savoir les <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/presentation-de-la-filiere-derives-de-dattes\/\" target=\"_self\">d\u00e9riv\u00e9s de dattes<\/a>, les <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/presentation-de-la-filiere-tomates-sechees\/\" target=\"_self\">tomates s\u00e9ch\u00e9es<\/a> et les <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/presentation-de-la-filiere-grenades\/\" target=\"_self\">grenades<\/a>. Ces fili\u00e8res offrent des perspectives prometteuses en termes de cr\u00e9ation de la valeur ajout\u00e9e, acc\u00e8s aux march\u00e9s internationaux et g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019emplois dans des zones d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es.<\/p><p class=\" translation-block\">Au niveau institutionnel, le PAMPAT 2 fournira de l\u2019assistance pour l\u2019am\u00e9lioration du cadre juridique pour le d\u00e9veloppement des indications g\u00e9ographiques et contribuera au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/developpement-de-la-strategie-nationale\/\" target=\"_self\">strat\u00e9gie nationale<\/a> de promotion des produits du terroir, qui sera mise en \u0153uvre dans deux r\u00e9gions pilote de la Tunisie.<\/p><p class=\" translation-block\">L\u2019organisation bisanuelle du <a href=\"https:\/\/pampat.tn\/concours-tunisien-des-produits-de-terroir\/\" target=\"_self\">Concours Tunisien des Produits du Terroir<\/a> se poursuivra \u00e9galement et l\u2019exp\u00e9rience tunisienne servira pour r\u00e9pliquer la mise en place du Concours des Produits du Terroir \u00e0 l\u2019international, notamment en Egypte et G\u00e9orgie.
